Bal Harbour, FL (October 7, 2016) – The Jewish Education Innovation Challenge announced today that is has launched a new initiative aimed at revitalizing Jewish day schools through reintroducing the dynamic of beneficent experimentation. For the first time, HaKaveret: JEIC Team Challenge will convene a group of talented, creative and motivated individuals from around the country to form an innovation design team with a focus on creating a new vision in Jewish education.
The inaugural team will consist of ten carefully selected Designers from a variety of backgrounds related to education, Judaism or psychology. The diversity of experience in this collaborative effort will help foster creative thinking and influence change.
From October 2016 to June 2017 the Designers will discuss different methods for innovating Jewish education, ultimately forming three to six new models that Jewish day schools can implement.
The team will identify schools that could potentially serve as testing sites for these new models. They will work closely with the schools to test the models, adapting them as necessary for each location.
During this time period, the Designers will convene for three cornerstone retreats. The retreats will take place in November, February and May and will be located in Silver Spring, MD; Chicago, IL and Bal Harbour, FL.
We congratulate the Designers for 5777 (2016-2017).
HaKaveret: JEIC Team Challenge is operated by Joshua Venture Group and funded jointly by the Mayberg Foundation, Lippman Kanfer Foundation for Living Torah and Arnee R. and Walter A. Winshall.
